Snowy Morning & New Product

So this is the gloriously beautiful scene I woke up to this morning!

Here is what the Quilt Cabana looks like in winter…

I used the snow setting on my camera to capture the early morning light against the snow. I love how the pictures came out.

Then I took the same photo and messed with it a little bit in Photoshop…

I took this photo and uploaded it to SpoonFlower just sort of playing around with fabric options using this photo.  As you might have guessed, repeats are a problem with a picture like this.  I have Kim Kight’s book on fabric design but it deals with hand drawn repeats.  Looks like I’ll have to do some more research…anyone out there with knowledge on landscape photo repeats?  I’d LOVE to hear from you.

The last few weekends I have had a great time going to quilt workshops!  For one of those workshops, I needed several quilt sandwiches to use for free motion quilting practice.  As I was making the quilt sandwiches, I was annoyed that instead of “doing” the FMQ, I was spending time making these sandwiches.  We’re all busy and I’m no exception and I started wishing I could purchase premade sandwiches!  So I whipped up two sets of six and I put them in my Etsy store.

Now if you’re like me and you’d rather pay to have them all set and ready to stitch, visit my Etsy store here to order a bunch!

Don’t forget Valentine’s Day is coming and I have a super cute Valentine wall hanging in the store as well as the holiday wall hangings in Little Quilts For Big Occasions.

Happy Quilting!

Sandi
