A New Episode, A Challenge, And A Brewery

This past week was a busy one with the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving. I so enjoyed having all my girls home in one place!

On Sunday, Greg and I drove Lindsey back to the University of Vermont and we stopped at the Lawson’s Brewery on the way home. If you are a fan of craft beer, I’m sure you’ve heard of Lawson’s Sips Of Sunshine! They opened a beautiful new facility and it was really something to see. I think Greg would love to have stayed longer but we had a 4.5 hour ride home so it was a quick visit. This is the outside of the building complete with outdoor fire pits blazing…

This was the tasting room…

And this was the retail area where you could purchase four packs of different varieties. I was mostly drawn to the gleaming wood and the colorful logo!

This morning I recorded a new episode (#48) of Quilt Cabana Corner for your listening pleasure! Here are some of the things I mentioned in the podcast.

The 5 Second Rule book by Mel Robbins

The book, Circe

The 5 Year Diary

I also talk about a new art quilt challenge for 2019! I’ll be hosting the Step Into Your Art challenge once a month for those who would like a monthly prompt to work out of our current creative zones. Personally, I find that my time generally goes to traditional quilting projects and I’d like to sort of force myself to carve out time to explore a different side of quilting. I’ll be starting a private Facebook group for this challenge where we can share ideas, encourage each other, and have a space for show and tell. If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll post more information about this in a few weeks.

I finished up my crocheted cowl this week as well. I finally figured out how to wear it! It’s warm and now I’m making one in black for Lindsey.  It’s Simply Made by Erin, pattern 016, Super Chunky Cowl. Website is www.simplymadebyerin.com

This week on the long arm I had the honor of quilting Gail’s jelly roll race quilt. The fabric was gorgeous! I used the swirling feather pantograph which seems to be everyone’s favorite and I can see why!

There’s still plenty of time to make holiday mini quilts, table runners, and wall hangings. Check out my holiday patterns on Craftsy!
