We have been melting here in MA this week! A heatwave has us all wanting to do this every possible moment…
Since we really can’t eat ice cream for every meal, I’ve been getting busy in the studio. We had Lindsey’s grad party on Saturday and even though it was a true scorcher of a day, we had a blast. I had white Kona charm squares and a few Micron Pigma pens on hand for guests to write Lindsey a message and I’ll make the squares into a quilt for her to take to the University of Vermont.
I’m back to teaching this week and it’s been so refreshing and fun. Sharyn and Gail kept me busy with their projects and we enjoyed planning and getting started on a few. First, this is Sharyn’s finished bargello. It’s a little clearer than last week’s photo. I’m posting it again because the fabric is so darn cute.
Gail finished her bargello but it has one little place to be fixed so I’ll post that when it’s totally done. She’s begun work on this diamond quilt…
She’s chosen blue fabric for it and it’s going to be gorgeous!!!
I was busy whipping up a small t-shirt quilt that features my own t-shirts. I’m practicing the puzzle style of t-shirt quilt making where there is no sashing. I will border it and then put it on the long arm for some free style quilting.
Today I loaded Gail’s newest jelly roll race creation on the long arm. She chose a cotton candy pink thread and it will look so cute on this…
Two of my summer goals are to learn to knit and to relearn my digital camera. This week I taught myself to knit a simple dishcloth.
Now I’m moving on to a new dishcloth pattern that will allow me to learn increasing and decreasing stitches. So far I’m enjoying this journey.
How are you all beating the heat this week?
