Educating, Inspiring, and Connecting Quilters

Two weekends ago I had the absolute good fortune to attend the Creative Arts Business Summit hosted by Morna McEver. Morna is the founder of the International Association of Creative Arts Professionals. In addition to the business summit, she runs programs for individuals who want to develop their art into more than a hobby.

As I was sitting among creatives from across the country and in all phases of their businesses, I was astounded that we all had the same goals and the same limiting beliefs that are holding us back. The attendees ran the  gamut from teachers and engineers to healthcare professionals to stay at home moms. Every one of us desiring to work on our businesses as opposed to in our businesses.

Having a new network of support through the friends I made is amazing! Leaving there confident in my skills and ability and a plan to grow my business was awesome. I’m so excited over new ideas that were generated and I can see that I will either need to clone myself or learn to sleep faster to get them all done! Lol!!

When I really thought about why I’m so passionate about what I do, it boiled down to wanting to educate, inspire, and connect with quilters. I guess that would be a good tag line for Quilt Cabana Patterns!

So with all of this will come a more consistent presence on the blog and other social media outlets from me which you might like and you might not! Lol! The goal will be to connect with you all and help you connect with one another as we all learn new techniques.

That’s a lot of deep thinking for one blog post!

Other things have happened this week like a junior prom! These two were asked to the prom and I got to beam with excitement that they were going to the same prom and sitting at the same table! We lucked out that their junior dates were friends!

They had a great time and in a few weeks Lindsey will be heading off to the senior prom! And lucky Leah has two more proms in her
high school career to look forward to!

I mentioned in the last post that I started Weight Watchers online and I am loving it!
I found this zero point sugar free maple syrup and I have been drizzling it on fruit and even in my coffee! It’s that good.

  1. That’s a really good tag line. There’s nothing like finding a like minded group with similar goals and struggles. I’m glad your conference was inspirational even just for these reasons. Friendship is a plus.
