Keepsake Quilting Trip

Each summer for the last few years I’ve made a pilgrimage to Keepsake Quilting in Center Harbor, NH.  My mom, aunt, and the girls come with me and we make a day out of it.  It takes us about 3 hours to drive there and we pack a picnic lunch, shop, and have dinner out.  Keepsake is located right across the street from Lake Winnipesaukee where the girls like to wade in the water and there are picnic tables available to have your lunch.  The shop is bright, cheery, and full of bolt after bolt of beautiful fabric.  There’s also a yarn shop next door.  We will be heading up again in August which is much later than our usual June trip.  Everyone was busy at the end of June so it didn’t work out for us.    This year I already know what I’m going to purchase.  I’ve had my eye on this lovely watercolor quilt kit that is made from a background of 2″ squares and then has the nativity scene fused on.  The kit is $42 and I think that is more than fair considering the 2″ squares are pre cut!  This quilt will go above my fireplace for the holidays in who knows what year because my list of quilts I want to make is loooong!!!  Seriously, I am hoping this will be an easy one and I’ll fit it in my schedule sooner rather than later.
