Good Morning,

I have a few minutes to post this morning before I am off to the church quilt group. I finished my lap quilt top for them last week but due to weather, I didn’t get there to pick up a backing fabric. Today I’ll find some backing fabric and maybe pick out some new fabric to start on the next quilt.

I added a few rows to my Knook scarf this week. I didn’t take a photo because there’s not too much to see on that project.

I did work on Lindsey’s batik quilt that I am piecing on Snow White (featherweight). I’m excited about this quilt now as I see it starting to come together. I got the first two rows of each block stitched together and I have the third rows of the blocks all pinned and ready to go. I hope to work on that more tonight.

Lindsey, Leah and I spent Monday making some comfort bears. We made these four for the guild…

The girls wanted to find some fleece in my stash and make their own. Leah ended up making a Spongebob print bear and Lindsey made a solid, light blue one. Here are some pictures of them working on the brown ones. They used a spoon to stuff the bear with filling which I thought was a great idea. The spoon wasn’t sharp so it didn’t rip the fleece and it was long enough to get right up into the bear’s ears. They said Grammy taught them that one…good job, mom!

I contacted the DARE officer in our town and asked if he’d like any of the bears for the police station. He replied that he had heard of the bear program, thought it was an awesome idea and would contact the chief about it. So I’m waiting to hear back on how many they want to start out with at the station. I’m sure they don’t want to be inundated with bears but a few would be good to have on hand.

I also have been working on the quilt for the 100 Blocks magazine this week…it has been all about pinwheels this week…

I kept thinking that those half square triangles look like a little army standing at attention waiting to be in the pinwheel trenches! LOL! I know, serious issues…sorry…
