Black Friday Sew In!!! #BFSI

Good Morning and welcome to the Black Friday Sew In day and give-away! I hope everyone in the states had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. I have much to be thankful for on Thanksgiving and every day and yesterday was the icing on the cake being able to have family and friends gathered together at my home.

I am not a person who runs out to the shops on Black Friday. I can’t even stand the thought! LOL. I only went out once and that was a few years ago. I was at the AC Moore parking lot at 4:30am to get a Sizzix Big Kick machine. I got it for $29 so it was a definite deal but I’ll never do it again! It was cold and lonely….I’d much rather be sewing in my jammies with coffee in hand. That being said, I hope you’ll join in on the Twitter party today. It’s being hosted by Sandy from Quilting For The Rest of Us. A few other podcasters are also joining in on the fun. Visit Sandy’s blog for a list of participants and chances to win prizes. Be sure to follow the hashtag #BFSI to talk about your projects and follow everyone’s progress.

Here on my blog, I am joining the fun by having a give-away too. If you would like a chance to win a copy of my book, Little Quilts For Big Occasions, leave me a comment at the end of this post. I’ll make it very easy for you to enter…just tell me your name, hometown and your favorite quilt block! That’s it! Little Quilts For Big Occasions has 7 seasonal wall hanging projects that are fun and easy! I’ll pick a random winner tomorrow morning!

Ok – Let’s get sewing! My family and I are putting up the Christmas decorations today but I am hoping to at least work on hexagons and a fabric post card somewhere in between!

  1. My name is Brenda and I live in Rochester, mn where it was 60 degrees yesterday and today it is 19 degrees and snowy. My favorite quilt block tends to be whatever I am working on although I am a bit partial to log cabins.

  2. I’m Sarah from Chandler, AZ, and pick a favorite block? That’s not easy! LOL! I guess I’d have to go with Jacob’s Ladder, since I’ve always admired it, but have never made a quilt with it – it’s always on my wishlist! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Hello, my name is Stephanie B from Louisville, Kentucky. My favorite quilt block is the lone star. Although I have never done this block, it is on my bucket list. Thanks for all you do and I hope to receive the winning email ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy quilting and enjoy your family time putting up the tree and decorations.

  4. I just wanted to say, Hello and Happy Thanksgiving, I have the book so give it to someone who does not.

Just working on my FMQing right now… going to master the technique or bust.

No Black Friday shopping for me… but I will probably hit the LQS tomorrow… Did go to the movies with family. The only time I will be out of my PJs today… put them back on when I got home.
