As an early birthday gift, I have received the Viking Circular Attachment and today I got to play with it for a bit! I first saw the circular attachment on The Quilt Show when they went to Libby Lehman’s home. I loved how easy it looked to get perfect circles. Libby has the Bernina one but Viking also makes one.
You are supposed to use a hoop but I was too excited to try it out and didn’t feel like searching for a hoop. Instead I used a practice quilt sandwich.
The whole attachment consists of this thumbtack looking item and the silver guide that slides through the back of the shank – similar to the guide that comes with the walking foot.
Next you lower the presser foot and start sewing! The guide fits over the thumbtack and presto, you get a perfect circle.
I can’t wait to use decorative stitches around flowers on my quilts!

Where did you get yours from? That is too cool! I need to get one for my Viking. I see my dealer on Sunday maybe they have one there.

I got it online at Sewing Machines Plus. I ordered an open toe stippling foot from them as well. The prices were great and the order arrived very quickly – just a few days. I think you and I have the same sewing machine so I’m sure it will fit yours just fine.
