Pairs Nicely With Wine….

We’ve battened down the hatches here in MA and are getting ready for our windy evening from Tropical Storm Isaias. My long arm has been turned off in case of a power surge and my wine glass is full. Can’t think of a better time to update my blog with everything I’ve been up to, lol!

Today I was working on a pretty jelly roll race quilt that one of my students has pieced. It reminds me of the ocean and driftwood. I really love it.

I’m using a blue thread and an edge to edge design called Pipeline.

I wanted to mention a recipe that I tried out a few nights ago. Everyone one loved it! It’s one of those chicken dishes that popped up on my facebook feed. This is a photo of how it turned out…

Here is the recipe if you want to try it. It was very easy. I used Purdue thin chicken breasts and it came out great.

Last week we pulled out the telescope that Amanda got when she was in third grade. We were able to see the moon, Saturn, and Jupiter. Leah captured this great photo of the moon through the lens but we couldn’t get good ones of the planets.

Friday was Mr. Greg’s birthday and we masked up and had lunch at Bar Louis in Patriots Place. We were missing Lindsey though! She’s working and living in Vermont this summer.

Also last week, I completed long arming this beautiful pink ribbon quilt for a friend of mine. It came out great both with the piecing and the long arming.

Lorraine found the pattern on Missouri Star Quilt Company’s website. Here it is if you’d like to make one.

I took a Bluprint class recently on air frying. The instructor was Bruce Weinstein and I really enjoyed it. He happened to use the same air fryer that I own which was a huge bonus for me as I was still in the ‘afraid of this machine’ phase. Well, not anymore! I ended up ordering his book from Amazon. I’ll link to it below. I highly recommend it if you are looking for lots of easy, great recipes.

I’m hoping to get dinner made before this storm causes us to lose power. I’m using my air fryer to make homemade pizza. Leah has some beautiful basil growing and I’ll borrow some of that for toppings.

Take care and stay safe tonight!
Sandi
