Been Awhile!

I just saw that my last blog post was in February! Time flies when you’re quarantined…Our state (MA) is beginning phase 2 of our reopening. It makes me super happy because non-athletic instruction of the arts and life skills can open today! That’s me! I’m looking forward to resuming private classes and workshops. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen all my quilty people and I have missed them so much.

During the last few months I’ve worked on the long arm a lot. I am thankful that so many of my customers were still quilting and willing to do a drop off/pick up scenario with me. The work kept me feeling human. I also completed my first Diamond Dotz craft project which was a palm tree. It’s hanging in my cabana. I did a little bit of hand work but not much because I wasn’t feeling motivated in the evenings. I read a few good books including American Dirt and the Prized Girl. I’m currently reading The Book of Lost Friends and I love it so far. I also exercised and caught up on some Netflix shows! But now I’m ready to return to quilting and all the fun that entails! I have no shortage of projects to work on, lol!!! These are a few of my churn dash blocks. I’m aiming to make each one different and to use only scraps for the blocks.

What have you all been up to over the last few months? Is your state among those reopening? I’m hoping and praying we are all back to normal soon.

Over the weekend, my youngest daughter graduated from high school. It’s been a disappointing senior year for both Leah and my oldest, Amanda. Amanda graduated from the University of New Hampshire in May. She hasn’t had her actual ceremony yet but hopefully we’ll get a date soon. Leah’s high school one was a drive thru ceremony followed by a parade through town. I don’t think anyone had high expectations of this but I have to tell you, it was so awesome!  The school outdid themselves on little details and the parking lot was festive with decorated cars and signs. The teachers lined up to wish them well and the kids were able to get out of the car for photos with their diplomas and also with their friends. The community showed up in droves to line the streets and make for one fantastic parade! I felt so much love and appreciation for the citizens of our town and our school administration. It was an amazing and unforgettable day. Here is a picture from yesterday of both my oldest graduate and my youngest.

A new week begins and I’m looking forward to working and maybe even browsing at a store! Have a wonderful week and let me know how you have been staying busy!
