Stamped Jewelry

Happy Wednesday!

I got the bug to try something new this month. I love the look of stamped, metal jewelry with positive messages. I figured it couldn’t be too hard to learn and so I ordered up a bunch of supplies and did some research. I purchased a starter set for stamping that included one font, a hammer, and a steel block to stamp on. I also ordered aluminum blanks to stamp on in 3 different sizes, a heart stamp, and an industrial Sharpie marker for coloring in the lines of the stamping. Once I got going a little bit, I bought 2 more fonts. One font was very basic and I got it from Joann’s. The rest of the items, I ordered on Amazon.

I chose the aluminum round blanks with a hole in the top so jump rings can be attached. I didn’t order sterling silver or silver plated because they are much more expensive and I’m learning. Turns out aluminum was the perfect choice as it’s allergy free and stamps easily.

These earrings were the first things I stamped…I got those cute little earring cards at Joann’s too.

The next thing I made was a keychain that has my daughter’s initials along with her boyfriend’s. This will get tucked in her stocking.

I’m finding this to be a fun addition to the crafty repertoire. It’s fast and you get immediate results. Of course, you also get immediate mistakes if you don’t whack the hammer hard enough or your hand slips. I have to say, I am enjoying this a lot and I’m hoping to add stamped jewelry to my booth at the craft fair next year.

In the near future, I’ll include a tutorial on how to stamp jewelry with photos. I didn’t think to take pictures of the process as I was just learning.

At the bottom of the post, I’ll include links to the Amazon products if you want to check them out for yourself.

This week I finished a Snow White toiletry bag order…

And I finished the Christmas present I was sewing for someone who shall not be named! LOL! I have one more order to finish before Christmas but I’m waiting on some fabric to be delivered.

Have a great day!
