I have got a bit of a ramble of a blog post today. I was looking through the pictures on my iPhone and had a few there that I wanted to share.

This week Lindsey made some homemade Rolo ice cream in her ice cream machine. It’s a Cuisinart machine that she got for Christmas a few years ago along with a Ben & Jerry’s recipe book. We used mini Rolos so that they wouldn’t be too hard on the teeth. If you use the regular size Rolos, you need to chop them up. It came out delicious. I would use peanut butter cups next time as I prefer peanut butter to caramel.

While we were at the mall last week, we found this adorable ice cream container at the Sur La Table store. It was on clearance for about $8 or $9. We found it on the day that we knew we were making the ice cream. Leah couldn’t get her mind off of how cute it was, so it came home with us 🙂

We harvested some tomatoes, a Jalapeno pepper and Cilantro from the garden and we made salsa. It was sooooooo yummy. We used this recipe:

I pulled out my new Sashiko kit and started it yesterday afternoon. I wanted to be sure to have it started before our upcoming Disney vacation. I am planning to work on it on the plane rides to and from. I’d say I’ll work on it during the vacation but I think that will NEVER happen. My family are a bunch of Disney fanatics and love to be at the park when it opens and go all day long. It will be great for the Fitbit steps but not so great for crafting of any sort.

I particularly like the brighter blue color on this Sashiko kit over the more navy’ish color of the last two that I’ve worked on.

Mark Lipinski had these ADORABLE Eiffel Tower scissors on his blog yesterday. I fell in love with them immediately. I found them on Amazon for $11 and they also have Big Ben ones for $9. Yup, I bought the Eiffel Tower ones. One can never have too many pairs of good scissors, am I right?
