So, I’m coming to you from my new desk! Gregster put it together for me on Friday night and I am loving it! It’s the perfect size for my laptop and the extra large draw fits a whole bunch of office supplies.

Admittedly, I’ve done very little quilting this week so this post will not be particularly inspiring in a quilty way…however, I did spy this interesting floor pattern in the ladies room of the Chateau restaurant on Sunday. I think an interesting lap quilt could be made from these blocks in similar colors.

This is the last full week of school around here. The finals studying and wrap up of AP classes has begun in earnest for Amanda. She has been working so hard this week. I know she must be tired because I’m tired just watching her. Summer for Leah means pulling out the hooked rug project for those summer mornings and evenings when she’s watching tv. This little rug is about 2 inches from being complete. She has a new one on deck already.

Sunday was a day that filled my heart with joy as Lindsey was confirmed. She participated in a year long program that included serving the homeless on Boston Common (they had an eye opening experience there as a fight broke out and one woman yelled at the kids for not allowing her to choose her own brownie) as well as at an area shelter, writing a faith statement, participating in a lasagna fundraiser (those lasagnas were delish!) and attending church as well as the confirmation meetings each week. There were 10 confirmands in the class and as you can see, they all wore red as it was also Pentecost Sunday. Congratulations to all of them as they step out in their faith.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

  1. Handsome family! You can tell who’s kids those are–I see both you and your husband in them just from the pics! Glad you got your desk as well. And you’re forgiven an occasional week without much quilting. Just don’t let it happen too often. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Tell Amanda the #Twilters wish her good luck on her APs, congratulations to Lindsey, and we can’t wait to see pics of Leah’s finished rug!

  2. It is a joy to see our children grow in their faith. Your little desk looks perfect… its not going to get too much junk stashed on it. My roll top desk in the kitchen is in dire need of a tidy up. Its become just a dumping ground. I’ve been looking at your seasonal quilts… just wish they matched our seasons here a little more. I will just have to take them as inspiration and design my own.
