Monday Progress & Such

So…it’s snowing again. It wasn’t supposed to amount to much this morning but it sure is coming down hard. Sigh. Looks like another storm on Wednesday night too. Can we please be done?

The weekend was productive in some ways but not others as poor Amanda suffered with the stomach bug Friday night into the wee hours of Saturday morning. Thankfully she’s feeling better now and hopefully the rest of the house doesn’t fall like dominoes. Fingers crossed…toes too!

I’m behind with sharing a few photos…Leah won a Valentine Heart contest in her classroom with this thoughtful Valentine.

I really love this.

My cousin’s daughter, Melissa, spent her winter vacation sewing with my mom. She made a pattern from the First Seasonal Trio set and also designed this adorable Donald Duck mini quilt! She is one talented girl. I’m so thrilled she has the opportunity to sew with my mom and learn how to quilt. I hear she makes beautiful pillows as well. Awesome work, Melissa!

My mom was busy finishing up her Lucky mini quilt and placemats. I love that she makes placemats to go with all of the mini’s. This just makes me happy…

I made progress on my nephew’s t-shirt quilt and will start quilting it today.

I also signed up with Angel Outfitters to do some charity sewing in the form of bereavement buntings. These are tiny buntings that are donated to hospitals to clothe angel babies from 14-20 weeks. It will be sad sewing but my heart longs to do it and I welcome the chance to offer prayers for families and angel babies while I stitch them with care.

The buntings are very small. This is the practice one I made on Saturday.

Sunday afternoon I went to Joann’s and picked up 4 yards of flannel which is what the real ones will be made of.
