T-Shirt Quilt Progress & Fav Pens

I spent some time this week working on my nephew’s t-shirt quilt. I have the top finished and just need to back it with fleece and quilt it lightly.
I have a beautiful green fleece to put on the back of it. It’s turning out to be a great size too. It will finish up at 55″ x 55″ which is a perfect throw size.

I did a little bit of custom work on one square because there was so much room under the Terminators graphic. Luckily, the shirt had a number 11 on the back that was easily removed and blanket stitched onto the front.

I’m looking forward to wrapping this one up and starting my niece’s t-shirt quilt next.

When I find something I love, I like to pass that along and this week it came in the form of a pack of new pens. These are Papermate Profile pens and they just write.so.smoothly…I love them. They feel nice in your hand too. I got this pack of four colors at CVS for about $5.

I’m not going to lie, the purple is my favorite 😉

I have so many beautiful photos from our trip to Maui last summer and I felt like it was a shame to keep them to myself and the hard drive so I opened up a store on Society6. Society6 is a marketplace for all things art and I am offering some art prints that can be framed or made into canvas through the site. Take a minute to check out my art prints as well as the others that are listed. Here is my link:

  1. This weekend I am at our presbytery meetings (gathering of the churches of our denomination across a certain area) I am the journal secretary so am supposed to be taking the minutes but at the moment we are having a presentation which we don’t record so I am playing on my computer. No machine sewing will be done today although I do have a hand stitching project in my bag and some quilting magazines. The meetings are in a town 4.5 hours from where I live (we have a big presbytery area wise)so we left Friday morning as one of our group had to be here by 4. Meetings Friday night, all Saturday (8.30 AM – 9PM) and we conclude with a service on Sunday morning and then get to drive home.

  2. That’s a busy church weekend! I hope you get time to do some of your handwork while in the meetings or you’ll have to treat yourself to some serious stitching Sunday night!!

  3. Oh, I agree with you about those pens! I special order them for work, and watch them like a hawk. I work with the public, and they walk away with our pens regularly. I have been known to run down the hall after someone to get my pen back.

    • Lol!!! So glad I’m not alone about the pens!!! I really do love them. I feel like ordering by the case and stashing them away.
Thanks for stopping by the blog!
