Wed. Progress/Give A-Way

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr. This is how my mailbox looked this morning on the way to the bus stop.

I hope you are having a wonderful week! The fabric postcard swap seems to be well underway. I know several participants have received their cards and are very happy with them! I mailed mine out on Monday and ran into a slight snafu at the post office. The cranky postal clerk made a bit of a stink about hand stamping the postcard and insisted on adhering a sticker label to it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the label stays on the card long enough to make it to my swap partner! If you are joining in the swap, be sure to post a picture of your postcard to the Flickr Group

Do this after you and your partner have received the postcards.

QuiltMaker sent out an email that they are having a wonderful give-away for all 8 volumes of 100 Blocks to one lucky reader. Enter Here.

I have been entering blog give-aways and long arm give-aways like there’s no tomorrow! Hope I get lucky on something! LOL!!

Over the last week I had very little time to sit and sew. Yesterday I was determined to take the day to finish the blanket stitching on the turtle quilt around all the cut edges. I did finish that and got both borders on the quilt which now makes it a nice lap size for Leah.

I love the pop that the pink border gives the project. I have to take a break from this quilt to work on some magazine submissions but hopefully in about 2 weeks I’ll be basting and quilting this for her.

First and foremost on my to do list is to purchase a new computer. This one is crashing whenever it feels like it and the kids have lost a few assignments they were working on due to that. We are waffling between a new desktop pc or a laptop and docking station. I think we are headed toward the laptop and docking station. Of course with the excitement of a new computer comes the dread of reinstalling and moving files. Ugh. I did do a major back up about a week ago. Ordering something will be this afternoon’s project.

Have a happy and quilty day!

  1. Having had to restore files to computers several times in the past, you have my sympathies! I absolutely love that quilt. I remember seeing that pattern when I was in Hawaii and almost getting it…but I ended up with a different one. You’re making me think I need to pull that one off the shelf and actually do it! Maybe a Boxing Day Sew-In project, LOL. Thanks for the postcard swap–I enjoyed being part of it!

  2. The turtle quilt looks stunning. I haven’t done reverse applique either but yours looks so great I might have to try it. I have just finished listening to all your podcasts and now that I am up to date feel I can start to look at your blog and make comments. I have had several big projects that I am working on and catching up on podcasts have kept me entertained. I listened to all of Pam’s as well. I don’t have a website or blog but think I might have to start one so I can share my projects with the quiltiverse.

  3. forgot to say… I am from Australia. I live in central Queensland and the Tropic of Capricorn is only a few kilometres north of our town so no snow here… ever. We use Celsius and yesterday it was pretty hot here… 37 which is 104 F. Then in the afternoon we had a storm and got some rain which cooled things off for a while… but then it was humid. Still we need the rain so not complaining… enjoying the air con today though
