Workin’ On It Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

This week I was busy scrapping and didn’t get too much quilting done. I am headed to the church quilting group this morning. We’ll most likely baste the quilt I pieced last week and I’ll bring it home to sew around the edges and get it ready to be tied.

I did scrap 24 pages while at the retreat. I liked the layouts I created but my two favorites were these. The first picture is a little hard to see because of the protective pages over it but you get the idea. This was from Disneyland.

The next one I absolutely love. It is the first page of Lindsey’s album which is a surprise so I hope she’s not reading this!!!

I opened the door this morning to find a package that had been sitting on the steps all night long in the rain! It must have come UPS while I was out late yesterday afternoon or evening. It was my quilt being returned from Quilter’s World. I almost died when I saw it. Thankfully the package was left in a plastic bag and the quilt itself was in two layers of packaging. They had sealed the quilt up so well that not one drop of water was able to get through. I’m amazed at the care they took in sending this back. It was like it was hermetically sealed! LOL. Anyway…I made page 88 of the April issue of Quilter’s World! This is my Floral Mix-Up quilt. It was made with beautiful Riley Blake fabrics that were sent to me from the magazine. I loved every minute of making this one.

Here’s another photo of it that I took before sending it off.

And a close up…

So go pick up Quilter’s World and then you can make one of these!!

Last night I finished reading The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton for book club. It was about 660 pages or so and very slow to get started but the second half of the book was fabulous with a big twist at the end…It was very good. I think I’ll work through the 3 quilt magazines that are begging to be read this week and then start The Fault With Our Stars by John Greene.

Have a good day!
Sandi
