Today I am thankful for a lot of things but the two items that come to mind for this morning’s post are the new high school and the sweet packaging that came my way yesterday.
Our current high school is in such disrepair. I went to give blood in the gym a few times over the last year and you can’t help but just look up at the ceiling while laying there and seeing that it looks like it’s deteriorating at a rapid rate. The cafeteria is prone to flooding and the classrooms are far, far behind in current technology. I am so thankful that the town voted to build this beautiful new building. It will house grades 7-12 and will be open this fall! Two of my girls will be there for the opening. Amanda is currently a freshman at the old high school so she’ll get 3 years in the new building. Lindsey and Leah will get 5 years there.
I am also thankful for the cute little package of threads that arrived from The Quilt Bear yesterday. I ordered some Aurifil and I love how the tag on the outside of the package says it has been prayed over. What a nice thought for the day…that someone you don’t know took time out of their busy day to pray for you.
What are you thankful for today?

I’m still thankful for my family and my health. I’m also thankful for my interest in sewing and quilting because I enjoy it so much.
I don’t have an “unfinished” project but I have two “unstarted” projects I would like to start and finish this year. One is a Carol Bryer Fallert “High Tech Tucks” kit that I bought a couple of years ago. The other is a “Simple Journey Jacket” pattern from The Quilted Closet. I bought all of the fabrics for it at Keepesake Quilting last summer. I just pulled them out and will endeavor to work on them this year.
