Happy New Year’s Eve!

Written By: Sandra Colwell - Dec• 31•12

Can you believe that today is the last day of 2012? This year felt like the fastest one yet! I’m looking forward to everything that 2013 will bring and I know there will be lots of quilting involved.

We spent a fun day in Westfield, MA visiting my sister yesterday and celebrating Holmes Family Christmas with my side of the family. There were lots of kids who really now are teens and tweens. Cousins who are now married and ones who no doubt will be married soon. It was a day of laughter, good food, presents and mostly just being with each other…that was the best part.

This morning I took 2 out of 3 girls to the mall to spend the gift cards and cashola! I scooped up a new purse as well and a few packs of Thank You notes which I need to start writing out.

Tonight I am making my first prime rib. I hope I don’t botch it! We’ll have baked potato, squash and salad with it. Lindsey is baking up a fudge marble cake to top it off. I bought some Champaign and sparkling cider for us to toast the new year.

Tomorrow I hope to get a chance to look through this new book my sister in law gave me for Christmas. It is a beautiful book.

We got a small amount of snow yesterday. It was in the 3″ range but this is how pretty it was in the morning when I woke up.

My mom surprised my yesterday with this gift of a quilt pattern. I saw this completed at the last quilt show we attended and I loved it immediately. It is similar to the water color nativity quilt that I completed last year. I love these kits and I think the patterns are so pretty.

This will be on my list of things to complete this year…my mental list that is. I’m trying not to back myself in a corner with written lists as far as quilting is concerned.

I wish you all a beautiful, healthy and happy new year! Enjoy the evening and I’ll enjoy mine…see you in 2013!

Sandy, the nice thing about prime rib is that you can’t mess it up. By now you’ve probably enjoyed your meal and found that out.

Have a Happy New Year, and thanks for your blog, podcast and videos. I enjoy them all!

Thanks Colleen! The prime rib was delicious and I remembered to write down exactly what I did for the next time. I hope you have a wonderful new year and thanks so much for supporting my blog and podcasts. I appreciate that very much!
