Quilt Show and An Extra Hour!

Let’s hear it for the extra hour this morning! I am off to church in a bit but thanks to this wonderful extra hour, I can get these pictures up for the blog. Yay!
Yesterday my mom, Lindsey, Leah and I went to Manchester, NH for A Quilter’s Gathering quilt show. I love this show for its size and also for the vendors. The show was in one ballroom which was perfect when you have two not so avid quilters tagging along. I have to say though, they walked the show and had input on some of the quilts and they especially liked when Grammy purchased them jewelry at one of the vendor’s stalls ;). They did just fine and Lindsey found beautiful batiks for the quilt that she designed. The first picture is how the purple color truly looks. The second picture has the green and yellow but the purple came out looking blue for some reason. It’s the purple, green and yellow color combo the quilt will be made of.

The highlight of the quilt show for my mom was getting to meet and talk with Carol Doak. My mother admires her work and has made some of Carol’s Mariner’s Compass projects.

One of the highlights for me was seeing 5 of Pat Delaney’s quilts hanging together. Somehow I missed a picture of the 5th one but Pat is a rock star to me! She lives in the next town over and is the nicest person you could hope to meet and take a workshop with….

The girls enjoyed an exhibit of smaller quilts. They particularly liked the one with the bee. The picture is a bit blurry, sorry.

I took this picture for Katie of Katie’s Quilting Corner because it was made of the dog’s agility ribbons that were won over the years…super cute.

The next photo was my favorite quilt at the show. I believe it may have been my mother’s favorite also.

I also loved these two…

The last two pictures are of Jo Diggs’ work and my mother and I will be taking a workshop with her in February….can’t wait!

We topped off the quilt show with dinner out and then Lindsey stayed overnight at my mom’s house and I will pick her up this afternoon! Great day, wouldn’t you say?

Don’t forget to check the blog on Wednesday as I am part of the 100 Blocks Tour! I will be having two give aways…one for your own copy of 100 Blocks Volume 6 and one for a copy of my book, Little Quilts for Big Occasions!

Enjoy your extra long day!
Sandi
