Aloha! Hawaiian episode of the vidcast and Disney pics

Aloha to all! I have a new episode of the vidcast, Quilt Cabana Corner, up on Youtube.  Click Here to view.

We talk about some Hawaiian projects and review two books.  As promised in last week’s podcast, I also show a few more motifs from Doodle Stitching.

So this has been a crazy week.  Tomorrow is the last day of school for the kids.  I’ll be glad to have them home and not have to get up and make lunches.  Of course when the bickering starts, I’ll change my mind!!

I spent last weekend in Disney with my husband.  We left the kids in my mom’s care and headed out for a long weekend.  In August, we’ll be bringing the kids  and my mom back down with us.  Greg and I had a super fun time running around and only going on rides we felt like.  Our motto for the weekend was, “because we can”…that was in reference to the kids not being with us on this trip! LOL.  We enjoyed walking through the countries in Epcot  and stopping for drinks “around the world”.  It was nice to get away to our favorite spot and be able to not worry about sun screening three kids and trying to please everyone every minute of the trip.

Friday night was a tough one though as I was suffering from a really bad migraine.  I am starting to believe that flying in planes brings on migraines for me.  Usually I take migraine medicine before flying and I forgot this time and paid the price.  I couldn’t enjoy dinner and we ended up taking a cab back to the hotel. It was one of those nasty migraines that are nauseating and give me the shakes.  Anyway, I felt much better after a good night’s sleep and more medicine!  I’ll remember to take it before getting on the plane in August for sure.

Here are some pictures from the trip taken with my new camera.  It is a Canon SX 40 with super zoom.  I was looking for SLR zoom lens quality in a more compact camera and this camera is fantastic!  The super optical zoom is comparable to a zoom lens that you would attach to an SLR but because it’s built in on this model, you don’t have to switch lenses to achieve it.  I think I’m in love…it even fits in my purse!  I was also looking for a model that has low light capability and this one has it as well.

Entrance to Walt Disney World..yay, we made it!
